Healthcare Disparities & Inequities

The Covid-19 public health emergency and our response(s) taught us much about the healthcare delivery process and how dramatically our health can be impacted by our socioeconomic circumstances.  Disparities and Inequities in health care became more visible than in years prior to the pandemic.  Creating a national focus on identifying and eliminating these disparities is the first step, but each organization must look inward and outward into its community to identify the potentially unique barriers that exist within its diverse population, and methodically and purposefully work to reduce or eliminate those obstacles.  That is our charge as health care organizations.  But where and how do we begin to address Disparities and Inequities?
