Overview
This month in alignment with our newsletter, our C_APPs offering focuses on the process for assessing risk. As organizations recover from the pandemic, they are challenged with getting their Performance Improvement-Quality Initiatives back up and running. Prioritizing the work that needs to be done using the assessment of risk to the organization, patient and staff is essential to ensure that you are addressing the most critical opportunities first. Assessing for Risk is now an essential tool in our Quality toolbox, but rarely do we see it listed as a methodology employed by organizations within the QA-PI Plan. To assist you, this month we are providing a simple Risk Assessment tool that can be used to assess any type of risk along with information on how the risk assessment process is designed and deployed. This information can become an addendum, attachment or you can embed the information into your QA-PI Plan.
We also often hear organizations use the terminology of risk assessment interchangeable with Gap Analysis. The processes are not the same, and so we have also included a simple tool for documenting your gap analysis activities.
