Effective immediately, The Joint Commission (TJC) has revised its requirements for the evaluation of a licensed practitioner’s ability to provide care, treatment, and services from two years to three years. This revised time frame now coincides with the standard practice of evaluating licensed practitioners every three years. Organizations may follow this three-year time frame unless law and regulation require a shorter evaluation period.
The three-year time frame applies to the following accreditation programs:
- Hospital
- Critical Access Hospital
- Ambulatory Health Care
- Behavioral Health Care and Human Services
- Nursing Care Centers
- Office-Based Surgery
